NFL Predictions:Houston Texans (+1.5) vs Chicago Bears (-1.5)Over – Under 39.5
Sports pundits have tried to bill this game into a potential Super Bowl matchup.  Yes, the Texans own the best record in the AFC, and the Bears are just one game back of the undefeated, and potentially vulnerable, Atlanta Falcons.  However, the repeat meeting of these two teams in New Orleans in February, is slim.  Mostly, because the Bears aren’t the best team in the NFC, but that’s another argument for another day.  What does remain clear, this game is big for both teams at this point in their season.   The Texas, suddenly have a rookie QB in Indy, and a Colts team at 6-3, just two games back.  The Texans still have two games remaining against the Colts, as well as two road games against Detroit and New England.  The Bears attempt to remain in front in the battle for a bye week in the playoffs, and face perhaps the most difficult part of their schedule with their home matchup against the Texans, and a road game against the 49ers.
Much has been made tonight about the weather in Chicago in November.  Soldier Field, November weather, means cold, breezy, and difficult, correct?  Well, mostly.  It will be rainy, it will be windy, but at 57 degrees, while it won’t be pleasant, it won’t be bone chilling cold.  The weather isn’t what will determine the winner tonight, defense is.  The Bears allow just 15 PPG, the Texans ,17.1.  Both have a mentality for punishing offensive players with hard, but fair hits.  Both defenses have 25 sacks at this point in the season, but the Texans do struggle to force turnovers with only 14.  The Bears success of forcing turnovers is well known.  The key to this game will come down to two things.  How well each offense is able to move the ball, and if the Texans can avoid turnovers.
The Bears Defense has silenced criticism of an offense that is again below average.  While the offense has taken advantage of field position and leads that the defense has afforded, they come in the 25th ranked offense in total yards.  Don’t be fooled by the 29.5 PPG, without 49 defensive points that total comes down to 23.4 PPG.  The Packers are the lone team to defeat the Bears this season.  In doing so they only threw one INT against the Bears, forced Jay Cutler into 4, and sacked him seven times.  The Bears have allowed 28 sacks this season, and they will struggle against the Texans pass rush.  It wasn’t long ago that people were criticizing Cutler for his yelling at teammates.  Expect to see some of those opinions resurface again as he will remind everyone how well he handles pressure and struggle.  The Texans protect Matt Schaub well, allowing just 10 sacks.  He has only thrown 5 Interceptions this season.  Look for the Texans to be able to take advantage of a secondary that has shown it struggles with an accurate passing attack.  Look for this to be a game for Schaub to show that he is in the upper echelon of NFL Quarterbacks.  The only chance for the Bears to move the ball well will be with the balance of their offense.  With the 2nd best rushing defense, and a secondary that ranks 4th, I really don’t see the Texans allowing much offense from the Bears.  The Texans avoiding turnovers and shutting down the Bears offense will lead to a convincing Texans victory.  Take the Texans tonight.

College Basketball Predictions:Boston College (+12.5) vs Baylor (-12.5)
We go to the Charleston Classic tonight to get the best bet on the board. Baylor is playing Boston College in the Afternoon spot of this tournament. Baylor comes into this game 2-0 as expected, Boston College comes in 1-0 beating Florida International by 14 points.
That win over Boston College may seem insignificant but considering the Eagles only had 9 wins all of last year, BC has to be relived to see a Win come in really. Last season they started the season losing to Holy Cross. No ACC Basketball team should lose to Holy Cross.
Many of Boston College’s problem may lay in the fact that this team is so young. 10 of the 13 guys guys on the roster are underclassmen. Only 1 senior on the team. Last year, Boston College was 323rd in scoring in College Basketball. Terrible. There are only 338 D-1 teams. At 59.1 ppg its not surprise they are one of the worst in all of college basketball . Not only did they have trouble scoring, they had trouble rebounding. The Eagles were out rebounded by 6 per game last year. 326th worst ration. Although Boston College still has Coach Steve Donahue, they are looking to change how the play the game. They want to attack the rim more offensively, driving the ball looking for layups or getting foul shots. They were effective in doing just that against Florida International, but Baylor isn’t Florida International.
Baylor will have no problem keeping Boston College from penetrating. Baylor has always had overly long and athletic guys. It doesn’t take experience to be able to guard against lesser talent. Boston College’s philosophy of driving the ball just doesn’t work against these kinds of teams unless you have the athleticism. To speak to Baylor athleticism, they have Isaiah Austin, a 7 footer that has perimeter skills. He was a top 5 prospect. If the opposing team 7 footer has just as much ball handling abilities as your guards, you’re in trouble.
Baylor comes into the season ranked in the top 25. Yes, they lost some big names like: Perry Jones III, Quincy Acy, Quincy Miller and Anthony Jones, but this team is still talented. Returning is the small Pierre Jackson who was the team’s leading scoring last season. Jackson also finished the year ranked 18th in the entire country in assist. He can and will lead this team effectively. Baylor scored 74.7 points a game last year, and their experienced back court will get them the points needed to cover this spread.
This is the first meeting between the two teams, but they aren’t in the same class of basketball yet. Theres a reason Baylor is a big favorite on a neutral court. They can score while their opponent cannot.
