Game: Miami at New York Mets (1:10 PM Eastern)
Pick: Miami +1.5 runs -135 (runline)
The Mets have been awful, but are favored here despite a losing record both home and away. This New York offense is terrible, 26th in runs scored, 27th in on-base percentage and slugging while batting .227 as a team (29th). They've lost five of six games, including yesterday to these Marlins, 2-1 in 20 innings! That will burn out your bullpen.  And the offense left 22 men on base. The Mets are 3-9 in their last 12 home games, and 7-19 against a right-handed starter. New York goes with Jonathon Niese, and the team is 2-6 his last eight starts, as well as 2-5 with a 4.31 ERA against the Marlins. Tom Koehler of the Mets has only walked 13 in 41+ innings and has allowed fewer hits (35) than innings pitched. The Marlins are 5-2 in their last seven after allowing two runs or less in their previous game, and 4-0 in the last four meetings with New York, so the value is the Marlins on the run-line.

Game: Cincinnati at Chicago Cubs (8:05 PM Eastern)
Pick: Chicago Cubs +105 (moneyline)
The Cincinnati Reds are off a big series at home vs. the St. Louis Cardinals, played last night, and now must travel to Chicago, where they could come in flat vs. a weak opponent in the first game of a four game series. The Reds have been great at home, but just a mediocre .500 club on the road.  Homer Bailey has a losing record on the season, and in 11 starts against the Cubs, has not fared very well, as he brings in a career 4.92 ERA. Scott Feldman has pitched exceptionally well, and over his last 10 starts has allowed two or fewer runs in nine of them. The Reds are just 1-6 in Bailey's last seven road starts, while the Cubs are winners of four straight behind Feldman at home. Play the home dog, back Chicago.

Game: Boston at Tampa Bay (7:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: Tampa Bay +110 (moneyline)
Jon Lester appeared back on track for Boston after suffering through a dismal 2012 season. He was off to the races delivering five Boston wins in his first five starts. Things have started to take on the look of 2012, as Lester's last eight starts have seen his ERA expand to 4.39. Those numbers jump to 0-2 with a 5.68 ERA in his last four starts, so he is no doubt struggling. Hernandez has respectable numbers vs. Boston with a career 3.63 ERA against them. Boston enters with a poor 7-20 mark in their last 27 on the road vs. a winning team, and just 9-20 with Lester on the hill vs. a winning team in his last 29 starts against them. The Rays come in a potent 11-2 in their last 13 at home vs. a team over .600 on the road. Go with Tampa Bay.

Game: St. Louis at New York Mets (7:10 PM Eastern)
Pick: New York Mets +1.5 runs -110 (runline)
There have not been a lot of favorable things happening with this Mets team on the season. They have played poorly even at home. The one bright spot has been Dillon Gee, who was demoted, but given a second chance in the rotation, and he has responded. He has allowed single runs in consecutive starts, striking out 12 Yankees hitters in 7.1 strong innings. Gee has led the Mets to four straight wins vs. an opponent that allowed 2 or fewer runs in their last game, and I think the Mets bounce back after a painful 9-2 defeat here yesterday. The Cardinals are just 3-7 in their last 10 after allowing 2 or fewer runs in their last contest. This one is close, so back the Mets on the runline.

Game: St. Louis at New York Mets (1:10 PM Eastern)
Pick: St. Louis -140 (moneyline)
The New York Mets got a rare win last night against the St. Louis Cardinals. The Mets are, however, 10-19 in their last 29 games. They have their best pitcher on the hill tonight in Matt Harvey, but health questions arise, as he left his last start with stiffness in his lower back. The Mets, despite his efforts, are just 3-5 in his last eight starts because they struggle on offense. St. Louis has an even better pitcher on the hill in Adam Wainwright, who is looking for his 10th win on the season. The Cards are a strong 20-6 in their last 26 vs. a starter with a WHIP of less than 1.15, and are also 14-3 in their last 17 vs. a right hander. The Mets enter an ugly 5-26 in their last 31 as a home dog. Go with the Cardinals.

Game: San Francisco at Atlanta (7:30 PM Eastern)
Pick: San Francisco +125 (moneyline)
The Atlanta Braves looked like they were off and running away from the pack early on, as they jumped out to a 12-1 start. But, they were just swept in San Diego, and since their blazing start, the Bravos have been a pedestrian one game over .500. The Braves have had issues driving in runners in scoring position, residing second to last in the league with a poor .228 average. Madison Bumgarner has a 3.58 ERA on the season, and while  Kris Medlen was a near invincible 10-1 a year ago with a 1.67 ERA, things have been much different this year as he is pitching well with a 2.88 ERA, but is just 3-6. That is a product of the Braves' inability to drive in runs. The Braves are now just 1-4 in Medlen's last five starts vs. a winning team. Take the road team here.

Game: Indiana at Washington (2:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: Indiana +2.5 (moneyline)
Indiana is 1-1 on the road and rested with two full days off.  The Indiana Fever are the defending WNBA champions, and have been in a slump the last week, but there is plenty of talent on this group. The Fever is 4-0 ATS in their last four Sunday games, and they took three of four from the Washington Mystics last season. While Indiana has had two days off, Washington has been on vacation with a full seven days off! The Mystics are 2-6 ATS in their last eight games playing on three or more days rest. Getting back in sync will be a problem, even at home, for a team sitting idle that long. The Fever is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings, and Indiana is 11-4 ATS in the last 15 meetings in Washington. Play the Indiana Fever.

Game: New York Yankees at Los Angeles Angels (3:35 PM Eastern)
Pick: Los Angeles Angels -140 (moneyline)
This is the end of a 10-game road trip for the Yankees, and they've looked out of gas the last week, riding a five-game skid. The offense has been useless scoring two runs in each of the last four games...good luck against Jered Weaver!  This depleted New York offense is short on stars and production, 19th in runs scored, 22nd in on base percentage. Making matters worst is that first baseman Mark Teixeira hurt his wrist yesterday, and is flying back to New York. Lefty C.C. Sabathia is not throwing like an ace with a 4.43 ERA his last three starts. Even for the season his ERA is over four.  The Yankees are 1-4 in Sabathia's last five starts as a road underdog, and 3-7 in the team's last 10 road games against a team with a losing record. Sabathia has compiled a 6-8 record with a 4.22 ERA in 16 career starts against Los Angeles.  They face one of the best in Jered Weaver who is 6-2 in his career against far more powerful Bronx Bomber offenses than this one. The Yankees are 12-27 in the last 39 meetings in Los Angeles, so grab the home field against the road weary visitors. Play the Los Angeles Angels.
