Game: Kansas City at New York Yankees (1:05 PM Eastern)
Pick: New York Yankees -116 (moneyline) at 5Dimes
The Yankees' bats awakened last night and they got another gem from Ivan Noza. While that should lift the Yankees this afternoon, they anticipate that Derek Jeter will be in the lineup as well for the first time this season. That should ignite a big crowd and give the Yankees a lot of juice for this one. Pettitte tamed this Royal lineup on the road this season when he allowed just 2 runs on 5 hits over 7 innings of work. Santana has had zero success against the Bombers as he enters with a career mark of 0-6, including a loss this season. The Yanks are an impressive 100-48 in Pettitte's last 148 starts as a home favorite. Play on the Yankees.

BELMONT PARK Race #4 at 2:35 PM Eastern
Top pick: #5 (DELIGHTFUL DAWN) (3-1) - Mare was a winner here when facing slightly weaker on June 26th in her first off a Dave Jacobson claim. Stalker is 3-1-1-1 locally and has done well at this distance in the past. Barn has a record setting session going (41 wins), and this 5-year-old can add another to that total.

2nd pick: #6 (Hey Babe) (5-2) - I almost made her the top pick and veteran mare is a strong win candidate. Six-year-old daughter of "Trippi" was a winner here two back in a high-end starter-allowance, then chased and tired to finish fourth here on June 14th. Drops down a bit and stalker draws outside of the speed.

3rd pick: #3 (My Sparky) (4-1) - Lightly-raced mare hasn't seen action since May 2nd when she set the pace before tiring going 8.5 furlongs on the grass. Trainer (George Weaver) has her working nicely and will move her to the dirt and shorten up this 5-year-old in distance.

4th pick: #1 (Lily Lynn) (4-1) - Since coming off a seven week freshening and a trainer change to Rudy Rodriguez, mare has gone 2-1-1-0 and was a winner here just two weeks ago when facing a bit weaker. Can factor, but needs to step it up a bit.

Game: Chicago at Connecticut (7:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: Connecticut +4 (-105) at 5Dimes
The Connecticut Sun has perhaps been the most disappointing team in the WNBA this season. They simply have too much talent to be 3-8 on the season. They now realize that time is running out, so this becomes a huge game for them. They do have a great PG in Kara Lawson and a strong inside presence in Tina Charles, which gives them favorable matchup against Sylvia Fowles, and rookie sensation Elena Delle Donne. They will also be out to redeem an 11-point loss to Chicago early in the season. Play Connecticut.

BELMONT PARK Race #1 at 3:00 PM Eastern
Top pick: #4 (RUTHIE BLUE EYES) (3-1) - Filly raced wide while close before tiring here when facing special weights at this mile distance June 16th. It was her first since early Nov. and it's nice to see her come back in four weeks. Trainer and part owner John Kimmel has worked her twice since and drops this $250K 2-year-old purchase down to run for a $50K tag. The horse to beat.

2nd pick: #3 (Galway) (8-1) - Price play rallied to finish fourth when debuting here in a 6-furlong grass sprint for a $25K tag on June 22nd. Claimed that day by the leading trainer at this meet (Dave Jacobson), he raises her up in price and stretches her out to a mile. Dangerous and at square odds.

3rd pick: #1 (Quintile) (8-1) - Daughter of turf sire "Langfuhr" finished second on this course, going 6 furlongs April 27th and was claimed that afternoon by Bruce Levine. Filly had a troubled trip when rallying to finish fourth at this tag on May 23rd in her first for the new barn and has been freshened up for the past seven weeks. Can impact if ready at a nice price.

4th pick: #2 (Judy G) (7-2) - She's one of two entered by trainedr Barclay Tagg and the pair race uncoupled. Filly has disappointed a number of times and runs today off a seven week vacation. Capable, and she has several races in her past that make her dangerous if repeatable.

Game: Cincinnati at Atlanta (1:35 PM Eastern)
Pick: Atlanta -114 (moneyline) at BetPhoenix
Cincinnati is great at home, but has a losing record (22-26) on the road. The Reds are 4-11 in their last 15 road games, and 5-16 in their last 21 games as an underdog. First place Atlanta is 31-14 at home, strong on offense, 11th in runs scored and slugging, 9th in on base percentage, and off a nice 5-2 over this team last night.  Starter Julio Teheran (3.09) rarely walks anyone, with 21 free passes in 107 IP. The Braves are 41-16 in their last 57 home games, and 6-2 in Teheran's last eight home starts. Play the Braves.

Game: San Antonio at Washington (7:05 PM Eastern)
Pick: San Antonio +7.5 (-105) at 5Dimes
There's been an overreaction in the line in this one thanks to Washington's double-digit road victory over San Antonio on Friday. This line opened at 6 points and has moved all the way to 7.5. But, adjustments happen in sports, and overconfidence can also creep in. I expect the Silver Stars to keep this one close. San Antonio has been their best against-the-spread on the road where they are .500. Over the past three seasons, they own a 28-16 ATS mark on the road. Washington has been their worst ATS at home. When facing up-tempo teams like the Mystics the past two seasons (teams averaging 62+ shots per game), San Antonio is 13-5 ATS. Over the past three seasons, the Stars are 16-3 ATS on the road vs. teams that allow 77+ per game. Finally, the Stars are 15-3 ATS the past three seasons when revenging a home loss. Take the points on San Antonio.

Game: Pittsburgh at Cincinnati (7:10 PM Eastern)
Pick: Cincinnati -117 (moneyline) at Bovada
There is no doubt that the Pittsburgh Pirates have turned the corner. They must overcome the collapses they have experienced in the last two years where they had consecutive productive first halves. The challenge will be great in this series, as Cincinnati has put together a 30-16 mark at home where they have played well all season. Francisco Liriano has returned to his rookie season form, but has a career 0-2 mark vs. the Reds. Mike Leake has allowed 3 runs or less in 10 of his last 11 starts lowering his ERA to 2.69, and improving his season mark to 8-4. The Pirates are 91-210 in their last 301 games vs. a winning team, while the Reds are 40-19 in their last 59 as a favorite. Make the play on Cincinnati.

SARATOGA Race #4 (THE ON THE BUS STAKES) at 2:35 PM Eastern
Top pick: #4 (INIMITABLE ROMANEE) (6-1) - Consistent sort tries hard every time and was only beaten a "neck" by today's rival "Shakeira" last out at Belmont in the $125K "Mt. Vernon" stakes. She has more early speed than both that foe "Hessonite" and is working fast at Fair Hill for this attempt. If she's ever going to win a stakes, her fine tactical speed can get the job done today at a square price.

2nd pick: #3 (Hessonite) (7-5) - Veteran won the (G3) "Beaugay" over "open" company at Aqu. in her seasonal debut on May 4th, but has been sub-par in her last pair. Trainer Dave Donk moves her back in with fellow state-breds today and this daughter of "Freud" is 3-of-4 on this surface (all stakes). Major win threat, but at a short price.

3rd pick: #5 (Shakeira) (2-1) - Strong finisher is 16-7-6-2 on the turf and has gone 3-2-1-0 on this course in the past. Mare has won both starts since returning from a 5 month layoff in late April and is an obvious win candidate.

4th pick: #6 (Mystic City) (15-1) - Mare ships in from Presque Isle Downs where she won a $100K stakes facing "open" company racing on their synthetic surface. Speed/stalker finished second here last year to "Hessonite" in the $150K "Yaddo" stakes and may grab a small slice at a very big price.

Game: Atlanta at Tulsa (4:30 PM Eastern)
Pick: Atlanta -5 (-110) at Diamond
Atlanta (10-4) and Chicago are battling for the top spot in the East. Atlanta is well rested for this one against a bad Tulsa team (5-13), having had three full days off, and the Dream is 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games playing on three or more days rest. This is the end of a four-game road trip, and they are hungry for a win riding a three-game skid, two of those losses were against the top teams in the West. Atlanta is on a 10-4 ATS run overall, and the Dream is 19-7 ATS against a team with a losing record. Meanwhile, last place Tulsa has a losing record at home, is on a 2-5 ATS run, and the Shock is 3-8 ATS against the Eastern Conference. It's a short turnaround for Tulsa, off a win at Seattle on Friday, and they are still on a 2-7 SU/3-6 ATS run. When these teams meet, Atlanta is 4-1-1 ATS in the last six meetings, including 4-1-2 ATS in the last seven meetings in Tulsa. Play the Atlanta Dream.
